Getting into the SPRING of things
Jennifer Schmid
Happy first day of spring! I know some of you back East are still dealing with cold weather, but take heart, because it has to come to an end soon.
I consider the first day of spring to be a day of new beginnings, like a New Year. It can be difficult to start health resolutions in January because of the desire to go inwards during the darkest, coldest time of the year.
For me, this is the time of year when I can really dive into healthier intentions, thanks to
- the increase of daylight, which means more time outside;
- the availability of fresh foods, especially vegetables; and
- more oxygen and green outside, which gives me more energy and passions.
Many of you know that I am a big fan of slow, gentle changes instead of total life overhauls overnight. In preparation for a bigger cleanse later this spring, I've started a 45-day health challenge for myself. I'm doing 45 days of yoga, which replaces all alcohol and refined sugars. Most importantly, I'm working at a slower pace, even if that seem paradoxical, because when I go, go, go, I get tired, tired, tired.
Now that spring is here, what are you doing for yourself? Did you set an intention for a healthier you in January, but then let it go? Well, guess what? Now is the time to GO for it! Now is the time to make those visions of a healthier you become a reality. Start by taking longer walks, perhaps going to a chiropractor or osteopath, or savoring a salad of fresh greens.
Mother Nature is about to go all out. Don't you want to join her in that dance?
If you're not sure where to start, I'm here to guide you and give you the tools you need to take that first step. Email me or call me so that you can dive into the coming warmer months with lots of energy. You deserve it!
