Building on Love: The new Moon in Aquarius (January 31/February 1, 2022)
Jennifer Schmid
Beauty! I’m currently hiding away from society, in the dark of the moon, awaiting the seed of the New Moon to be revealed. I feel like the moon herself, about to come to light, and wanted to share some thoughts through the written word versus my usual videos.
This New Moon in Aquarius on January 31, 2022 at 9:46p PST lays the foundation for what’s to come over the next several months. Each New Moon in 2022 will ask us to choose a path, like one initiation after another on our hero’s journey towards the New Earth.
The dominant questions we have to ask ourselves with this New Moon in Aquarius are, which vision of the future am I committed to? Is it a world founded on love or on fear? God bless the people I know who are choosing fear; they seem so constricted by the fear that they can’t possibly let the love in. It’s too scary! They have lost their faith.
The thing with these New Moons is, you can’t choose both love and fear. For better or worse, it’s all or nothing. This is because love and fear are two ends of the same spectrum, a polarity of two very different frequencies. Like opposite ends of a magnet, they repel one another.
Because of this polarity, it may feel like people have blinders on. Not just blinders, but noise-cancelling headphones too! Mischievous Mercury is retrograde in Capricorn until the evening of February 3, so communication signals are still getting crossed, and not just by the plethora of 5G towers that got turned on. Some people, especially those in positions of authority, national and state governments, and the mainstream media, are desperately clinging to their lies and mandates in their attempts to fuel the fear. The more people wake up, the more lies they tell, until eventually, all the people see that the “Emperor” has no clothes.
(If you haven’t read The Emperor’s New Clothes by Hans Christian Anderson, I highly recommend it.)
While Mercury is still retrograde, Venus has finally stationed direct (on January 29), and she is traveling with Vesta, the wise crone, in Capricorn; Mars, the determined young warrior, will meet up with them shortly, exactly conjuncting Venus in Capricorn with the Full Moon on February 16, and Vesta in Capricorn on February 25. Venus and Mars will conjunct again at 00°01’ Aquarius on March 5/6 after they both pass through the gates of Pluto’s underworld on March 3.
Spoiler alert – the week of March 1st is one of the most incredible weeks I have ever seen astrologically… stay tuned for all the deets!
Continuing with the fairy tale theme, I imagine young Hansel (Mars) and Gretel (Venus) walking through the woods -- not with the witch who wants to eat them, but with the fairy godmother, Vesta, who provides safety with her magic and wisdom. Mars and Vesta will protect Venus, the innocent maiden, from harm at all costs. This energy will culminate around the New Moon in Pisces (conjunct generous Jupiter!) on March 2. Further insights will come with the total lunar eclipse on May 15/16.
And so with this New Moon in Aquarius, conjunct Saturn, and the entire Aquarius lunar cycle, you might find yourself exploring the types of communities in which you wish to live and the social groups with which you want to congregate. Imagine yourself laying down a proverbial hearth stone, the beginning of a structure within the future, even if you don’t actually pick up stakes right now. It’s more about envisioning a home where your heart is, then committing to that vision. My family and I are taking a recon mission to Tennessee in April, as California taxes, politics and bureaucracy now outweigh the benefits of Mother Nature and being near my extended family here.
Hopefully that rabble-rouser Uranus in Taurus won’t screw up the financial and housing markets too much before we sell our house! Except that this New Moon is square to Uranus… so it’s important that we expect the unexpected, especially with supply chains, financial systems, earthquakes, and technology being used in less than ethical ways. Being creative and innovative is both fun and necessary!
With Ceres in Taurus conjunct the North Node and trining Pluto and Juno in Capricorn, this is an especially fertile New Moon to set an intention, especially with your beloved. Eris’ continuing square to Pluto will ensure that both parties feel empowered; if you don’t feel sovereign or heard in your most intimate relationship, you may want to rethink your plans or the person you’re making them with!
Finally, this Aquarius New Moon encourages us to use our voices and share ideas with the community, especially when we see people hurting or being harmed by the collective. You never know how speaking your own truth may shift the trajectory. I had one client who bravely contacted her son’s school director after they sent out a discriminatory policy; the policy was “updated” 24 hours later to be more inclusive, all because she was willing to use her voice.
Healthwise
You may find yourself suffering through the doldrums of winter. While laughter is indeed the best medicine (along with sleep), adequate intake of food-based vitamin A and D is so critical right now. My favorite source is cod liver oil because it contains the right ratio of these two fat soluble nutrients PLUS essential omega-3 fatty acids, AND it takes like a lemon gummy. Please send me an email at hello@divinelyjennifer.com if you’re interested in purchasing it so that we can make sure it’s the right product for you.
Strict vegans may appreciate these vegetarian sources of Vitamin A and vitamin D as well.
I’m also digging nutritional mushrooms (no pun intended!) for the energy they provide and for how they are rebuilding my immune system after a wild ride in January.
As I said, please email me at hello@divinelyjennifer.com if you’d like more info on any of these products, as I often have discount codes that I can pass along as an affiliate.
Alas, there’s so much more that I can say about this New Moon in Aquarius and the Aquarian lunar cycle… Ultimately, keep building on the love, and you can’t go wrong.
I love you!
