Don't Buy These Supplements without Talking to Me First!

Jennifer Schmid

The supplement industry has seen astronomical growth this month. Why? Because people are frantically trying to avoid getting sick from a disease they are calling “COVID-19.”

The problem is, as I’ve written before, not only can purchasing supplements get expensive quickly, but worse, it can be challenging to know exactly what ingredients are in those supplements and where they came from.

There are four supplements you should never purchase without talking to me first, for the well-being of both your body and your wallet.

8 reasons why I didn’t get sick this winter, how much they cost me, and what I still need to work on

Jennifer Schmid

I did not get a cold or the flu this winter, despite being surrounded by snotty noses and some nasty coughs. (In my humble opinion, the flu vaccine is not the answer to health and well-being, let alone preventing illness. You can read more about my thoughts on the flu vaccine here.)

This is the first year in a long time that I didn’t come down with a cold or other upper respiratory bug. Last year wasn’t bad— I had one day where I felt absolutely miserable with aches and chills, spent that day in bed and woke up the next day with a mild cold that stuck with me for a week. This year though, my immune system was able to hold it together. Here’s what worked for me — and what I paid in $$ for it.

Podcast #9: Staying healthy for the winter

Jennifer Schmid

It can be so difficult to stay healthy over the holidays and throughout the winter. Cold and dark days, lots of parties, lack of sleep, too many sweets and cookies, adulterated egg nog and wines… It’s easy to get trapped in the pitfalls and stressors of the season and feel burned out by New Years.

Join me as I give you some tips about staying healthy and energetic all year round.

We’ll also discuss supplements and nutrients that you can use to strengthen your immune system and energy levels. Not all supplements are created equally, and it’s important to choose high quality over low price.

And listen in for a special December promotion!

Looking out for Michael Phelps (Why everyone deserves a Hawaiian vacation, part 2)

Jennifer Schmid

In my previous blog, I talked about the healing benefits of the ocean, and why everyone deserves a Hawaiian vacation.

Unlike the ocean, however, most swimming pools do not contain salty, beneficial minerals. Instead, swimming pools usually contain chlorine, which is “appreciated” for its ability to kill bacteria in water. Unfortunately, chlorine is also one of the most toxic chemicals in our environment.

Fortunately, just as there are for other environment threats to our health, so are there natural methods to heal from the damage it may have already caused.

All That Glitters is Not Gold

Jennifer Schmid

Heavy metals can wreak havoc on the body, from the nervous system to our joints to our gut and have been linked to such diseases as Parkinson’sALSAlzheimer’s, autoimmune diseases, and multiple sclerosis. They are found across the consumer spectrum in such products as anti-perspirants, all vaccines, amalgam fillings, batteries, jewely, airplane exhaust, cosmetics, light bulbs, factory emissions, some fish, chocolate, rice, medications, baked goods, ceramics, fungicides, cigarettes, and more.

In addition to clean living and eating, there are certain foods and supplements that can help with pulling heavy metals from the body slowly and gently and protect it from their toxic effects.

Why I'm not afraid of measles

Jennifer Schmid

Update, January 30, 2015: Thank you so much for your positive feedback about this post! You people rock. Due to popular demand, I have revised the blog to include more citations so that you know I am not pulling the wool over your eyes. Likewise, at the request of nutrition guru, Sally Fallon Morrell, president of the Weston A. Price Foundation, I have added in two more effective prevention strategies to help boost immunity, both of which are, of course, back up by science, just like all the others. Be sure to download the revised Strategy flyer!

Everyone should follow a measles prevention strategy by strengthening their health and immune system, even if they're vaccinated. Here's my strategy.
